    I just had one of these installed, and within two weeks it stopped working because a bunch of ants crawled into the mechanism. Is that normal and acceptable.

    This timer is terrible. The plastic gears internally wear over time, and the gear to gear fit starts slipping after a few years. 4 years later and the gears inside are worn and will skip on/off cycling.

    My timer had to be adjusted because the lights wouldn't turn on or off at the time you set it at. You had to add like 30 mins and then sometimes it wouldn't work at all. After a year, it is now totally shot and doesn't keep time properly. What a bummer. Not very reliable

    I'm having to replace mine after about 7 or 8 years. I think that is a great useful life period for a timer of this nature and price.
